Phoenix Equity Partners today announces that, with effect from 1 January 2025, Hugh Lenon stepped down as its non-executive Chair. Hugh co-founded Phoenix and has been with the firm for over thirty years, serving as a Managing Partner until 2013 when he transitioned to the role of Chairman. During this time, Hugh also served as BVCA Chair in 2010/11. Hugh will become a Senior Adviser to Phoenix.
Since 2014, Phoenix has been led by Managing Partners David Burns and Richard Daw, who commented: “Thank you, Hugh, for the huge amount you have contributed to the development of Phoenix and to the wider private equity investment sector over many years. You are stepping down at a time when the firm has never been in better health, which is a testament to the strong foundations you helped build.”
Hugh Lenon said: “Phoenix has been an important part of my life for 33 happy years. To my many colleagues, past and present, ‘thank you.’ It has been a privilege to support David and Richard, and the team as it has taken the firm to new heights over the past decade. I am proud of what we have achieved together and am confident that Phoenix’s talented team will continue to build on this success. I look forward to serving as a Senior Adviser to the firm. All power to Team Phoenix!”
